Hello!
-
A friend, sister, daughter, and community member who was born to help and be in service to others. Dance has been there for me through many seasons of change, grief and growth; through it I find strength, resilience, emotional release and clarity.
As a Dance/Movement Therapist I’ve developed capacity through education and training to move and experience your felt experience with you. Outside of work you can find me on the beach, cooking, enjoying my favorite sports teams, dancing and performing.
-
Integrity, empathy, and creativity shape the way I work. Rooted in these values I am fulfilled by bringing effective, community oriented practices into therapy, living authentically, present connection with others and flexible, outside the box thinking.
-
Working with me will look like:
Relationship Based - therapy will be long term care, we will develop a relationship founded in authenticity, healthy boundaries and emotional expression. In some cases, it may replicate other relationships in your life and that is where the work dives deeper.
Trauma Informed - mindful of your past and systems impacting your nervous system’s response to your lived experienceMind/Body Centered - Embodiment and interoception (language between mind and body) will first be taught/practiced and then we will take time to explore how your body is responding to scenarios (you do not need to have these skills prior to starting)
and be informed by:
Dance/Movement Therapy: non traditional form of therapy using movement in the session as an expressive form of communication. The therapist joins you in movement to inform interventions and progress through psychosocial developmental movement analysis tools.
Polyvagal theory: framework for understanding the Nervous System
Attachment Theory: Caregiver/child relationship dynamics that inform how we show up in relationships to self and others, work, problem solving -
